Lady Broncs Win State Golf / Weekend Local Sports Round up

BRONC / LADY BRONC GOLF – The Bronc and Lady Bronc golfers wrapped up their season at the state championships in Jackson Saturday.

The Lady Broncs took the team title Sophomore Gabi Wright led the way with a second place finish and she talked with Sheridan Media’s Kevin Koile Sunday during a parade for the state champs.

Sam Spielman finished 3rd, Libby Gardner was 6th and Katie Jorgenson was 8th.

The Broncs were third led by Brock Owings who took the individual state title.

BRONC FOOTBALL – The Sheridan Broncs beat Rock Springs 27-24 as they hit a 70 TD catch and run from Colson Coon with just over 1:30 to play to win the game, here’s Head coach Jeff Mowry. The Broncs are back on the road this week at Cheyenne East.

RAMS / EAGLES FOOTBALL – The Big Horn Rams shutout Newcastle 20-0 for their first win while the Tongue River Eagles took their first loss 42-14 at Torrington

COWBOY FOOTBALL – The Wyoming football Cowboys whipped Ball state 42-12 this week they play at UCONN Saturday

BRONCO FOOTBALL – The Denver Broncos won at Jacksonville 23-13 they host the Jets Sunday.

VOLLEYBALL – The Lady Bronc volleyball dropped matches to Thunder Basin and Campbell county, they will play at a tournament in Casper this weekend.

The Big Horn Lady Rams swept Wright and Moorcroft.

The Tongue River Lady Eagles also got a weekend sweep with victories over Burlington and Thermopolis.

SWIMMING / DIVING – The Lady Bronc swimmers and divers finished 2nd at a small invitational in Gillette Friday and beat Casper Kelly Walsh in a dual meet Saturday.

TENNIS – The Bronc and Lady Bronc tennis teams are heading to their state championships this week after hosting the regional tournament the Lady Broncs were 2nd the Broncs were 5th, the state tournament starts Thursday in Gillette.

X-COUNTRY – The Bronc and Lady Bronc cross country runners hosted the annual Michelle Ludwig invitational the Lady Broncs were third led by Abby Newton who took the individual title, the Broncs were first as Austin Akers and Reese Charest finished one / two.

JUNIOR HOCKEY – The Sheridan Junior Hawks dropped both weekend games at the Badlands Sabers in Rapid City by the same score 7-5.
