Buffalo HS Boys and Girls Soccer: They are the defending 3A state champs, and so far the Buffalo boys soccer team has taken everyone’s best shot this season.
The Bison have put together a record of 11 wins and 3 losses and have the #1 seed out of the East heading into the state tournament, which starts tomorrow in Gillette.
Head Coach Dick Edgcomb says the team lost its share of seniors and talent from last year’s championship run and the new crop has had to learn on the go, but so far they’ve done well.
Buffalo opens the state tournament against Powell tomorrow at 11am.
As for the Lady Bison, they’ve already done better than last year, and they’re not done yet.
The team was the #4 seed out of the East and finished as consolation champs last time around, and this time they have the #1 spot with a record of 9-5.
Head Coach Scott Berglund says one of the keys to this year’s success is that the girls have been spreading the ball around.
Buffalo plays in the first game of the 3A Girls State Tournament tomorrow at 9am vs. Mountain View.
Denver Broncos Football: The schedule for all teams came out last week and the Denver Broncos will have their share of challenges.
The team plays in the first Monday night game of the season at Kansas City, then plays their home opener vs. Jacksonville, followed by a Sunday night game at home against the LA Rams, and back to back road games against San Francisco and the LA Chargers, before returning home for a Thursday night game against the Super Bowl Champion Seattle Seahawks.
The Broncos also play the day after Thanksgiving at Pittsburgh, but are at home on Christmas Day against former University of Wyoming Quarterback Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills, then close the season at New England and at home vs. the Chargers.
Other opponents include the 2 games against the Raiders, Miami at home, and road trips against the New York Jets, Arizona and Carolina.
Colorado Rockies Baseball: The Colorado Rockies were shut out last night at home vs. Texas 10-zip, managing only 3 hits in the game.
The Rocks and Rangers will play the rubber game of their 3-game series today, starting at 1:10pm.
NBA Playoffs: The New York Knicks came back from 22-down to win the first game of the Eastern Conference Finals 115-104 in overtime.
Game 2 is tomorrow, while Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals between San Antonio and Oklahoma City is today starting at 6:30pm.
