Sheridan HS Boys Basketball: The Sheridan High School Boys Basketball Team recently went 3-0 to win the Cactus Jam tournament in Phoenix, Arizona.

On Tuesday, the Broncs prevailed in the championship game against Colony High School out of Palmer, Alaska 68-50.

Senior Nate Miner was named tournament MVP.

Johnny Spielman was named to the all-tournament team.

Sheridan is 7-1 on the season and has 2 weeks off from competition.

The team is next scheduled to play on Friday and Saturday, January 16th and 17th, when they start 4A East Conference play at Cheyenne East and at Cheyenne Central.

Meanwhile the Sheridan Lady Broncs will be back in action next week Thursday thru Saturday at the Cheyenne Invitational.


Sheridan HS Girls Wrestling: The Sheridan girls are scheduled to compete today and tomorrow in Bozeman, Montana.

Just before the holiday break, the Lady Broncs won their own round robin dual invitational.

Paizlee Clark was named the most outstanding wrestler of the meet.

The sophomore explains how she’s improved from last year.

The Sheridan boys as well as the Tongue River and Buffalo teams will next compete one week from today at the Shane Shatto Invitational at Douglas.

The girls version will take place at Glenrock.


Sheridan/Buffalo HS Boys Swimming and Diving: Sheridan is back in competition today at Gillette.

Buffalo will be there as well, and will also compete in a quad meet today at Worland.

Next weekend is the Sheridan Invitational.


Sheridan HS Nordic Ski: Wyoming teams will try again to start the season.

Competition will be held today and tomorrow at Pinedale.

There’s been no word yet on if the meet at Jackson has been rescheduled.

That meet was supposed to be held last month, but was postponed due to a lack of snow.


Sheridan Hawks Junior Hockey: The Sheridan Hawks are back from the break and hit the ice today and tomorrow for a 2-game series at Bozeman.

A few weeks ago, the team went 1-2 at the NA3HL Showcase Event against other 1st place teams in the league.

Sheridan Head Coach J.J. Santagata says at least one new lesson was learned that the team hasn’t had to deal with so far this season, but it came at a good time.

The next scheduled home games for the Hawks, is in 2 weeks on Friday and Saturday, January 16th and 17th vs. Bozeman.


University of Wyoming Men’s and Women’s Basketball: The Wyoming Cowboys evened up their Mountain West Conference Record at 1-1, thanks to a 68-56 win this past Tuesday at Air Force.

The Pokes only shot 34% for the game, but made up for it by hitting 10 3’s, and went 24 for 27 from the free throw line.

Nasir Meyer led UW with 14 points, Adam Harakow put in 13 and Uriyah Rojas contributed with 11.

Wyoming is next scheduled to play tomorrow at New Mexico.

Tip off is scheduled for 6pm and you can hear the game LIVE on AM 1410 KWYO and 106.9 FM.

The Wyoming Cowgirls ended up losing at New Mexico this past Wednesday 62-48.

The ladies could not find ways to get to the free throw line as they were only 4 of 6 from the charity stripe, and allowed the opposition to collect 17 offensive rebounds.

Malene Pedersen led the Brown and Gold with 22 points, and Logann Alvar added 10.

The Cowgirls are next scheduled to play tomorrow at home vs. San Diego State.

Denver Broncos Football: The AFC West Champion Denver Broncos will conclude the regular season this coming Sunday at home against the LA Chargers.

A win or losses by both New England and Jacksonville would give Denver the #1 seed for the AFC playoffs and a first round bye would come with it.

A loss and no help could drop the Broncos as far as the #3 seed.

The Chargers are in the post season as a wild card and are jockeying with both Houston and Buffalo for a better seed.

Kickoff in Denver is scheduled for 2:25pm and you can hear the game LIVE on Fox Sports 106.3 FM.


Denver Nuggets Basketball: Despite not having Nikola Jokic, the Denver Nuggets won this past Wednesday at Toronto 106-103.

Jokic has been diagnosed with a hyperextended left knee and possible bone bruise.

He will be re-evaluated in 4 weeks.

The Nuggets are next scheduled to play today at Cleveland.

Tip off is scheduled for 5:30pm.


Colorado Avalanche Hockey: The Colorado Avalanche won this past Wednesday at home vs. St. Louis 6-1.

The Avs are next scheduled to play tomorrow at Carolina and on Sunday at 2-time defending Stanley Cup Champion Florida.
