SHS We the People Team Featured in Documentary

Mike Thomas, Sheridan High School History teacher, recently announced that the SHS “We The People” Team is included in a four-part PBS documentary, Citizen Nation, which will be aired the next four Tuesdays, beginning tonight, Oct. 8, at 7 p.m. MDT, up until election day.

Thomas said they had film crews at the school multiple times. They rode on the bus with the team from Sheridan to Cheyenne to the state competition and they were filming at the national competition in Washington, D.C. He added that they even followed one student on a deer hunt, “They wanted to get a real sense of who these kids are and what they are doing.”

One We the People team member and National Merit Semi-Finalist was senior Jackson Gaskill, he is a part of unit one

He talked about what it was like to have the film crew following them around.

Gaskill also added that Mr. Thomas was featured in the film’s trailer as well.
