cvannoyAt the Monday, November 6, regular meeting of the SCSD#2 Board of Trustees, Technology Director Ryan Schasteen recognized the members of the Information Technology Department saying that he would put his team up against any other technology team that anyone could name.
He said that the things that made the school successful in technology was robust technology, good training and exceptional support.
Trustee Mary Beth Evers thanked the department, saying,
Activities director Kasey Garnhart also recognized the Girls # 3 Doubles Tennis Team.
In his Superintendent’s report Scott Stults talked about the accreditation peer review. He said the reviewers represented principals, superintendents and folks from the Wyoming Department of Education.
Some of the things he highlighted were high-quality teachers, great students and great support from parents. He added they have a great board with their eye on education and a focus of what the district can do for our kids, as well as a great central leadership team, and it “takes every one of us to make this a truly successful district.”
He added,
Troy Decker reported on several improvement projects, a fence on the retaining wall separating the grassy area near the school from the underground septic system. The new fence keeps the soccer balls, and the students, in a safe playing area. He also talked about a$40,000 grant that the school received for lighting in the Early building.
Trustee Wayne Schatz commented about the grant.
Decker also talked about some of the work being done on the Fifth Street property, and the fact that they are replacing the last seven old water fountains with new ones that allow for filling water bottles as well.
Shane Rader reported on the Whitney Board Appointments, and the board voted to approve Tom Belus, Megan Cook, Dave Kinskey. Heidi Richins and Dave Schultz to serve 4-year terms on the board beginning in January of 2024.
In other business the board heard presentations from the elementary school principals about their schools’ improvement plans.
