A recent Sheridan High School graduate has jumped his way into an athletic scholarship.
Casen Wilson has signed his National Letter Of Intent (NLI) to compete on the track and field team at Black Hills State University.
He will participate in the long jump and triple jump events and considering majoring in mathematics.
Wilson says he likes both the individual and the team aspect that track and field has to offer.
“It’s just kind of the thrill and all of being around all the team-mates. It’s not necessarily just an individual sport. You’re doing it for yourself, but then it all comes back to help the team, which is really fun in the end to see all those guys, PR’s and doing well. It’s fun to be a part of.”
Wilson adds he had been considering other offers from Chadron State and Dakota Wesleyan.
