Wrong Way Driver Killed In Crash On I-90 Near Piney Creek Road
A woman is dead after driving her vehicle the wrong way and crashing on I-90 in northern Johnson County.
The Wyoming Highway Patrol says sometime before 10pm on Thursday, June 1st, 40-year old Delayne Renner was driving her vehicle westbound in the eastbound lanes of I-90, just short of where the freeway crosses over Piney Creek Road.
As she came over the first hill westbound, the highway curved to the left, and Renner missed the curve, entered the median, clipped a delineator post, and eventually crashed into the end of a bridge rail.
The vehicle then continued across the bridge deck and rolled approximately 1 and 3-quarter times, coming to a rest on its driver side.
Sometime during the crash the vehicle caught fire.
The Patrol adds it is unknown if Renner was wearing a seat-belt and how long Renner was driving on the wrong side of the road.
This is the 57th fatality on Wyoming highways this year, compared to 38 this time last year.
