Weekend Local Sports Wrap up

INDOOR TRACK – The state indoor track championships wrapped up Saturday the Sheridan Lady Broncs took the 4a state title the Broncs finished 3rd, full results can be seen right now on the sports page at sheridanmedia.com.

STATE BASKETBALL – The 1A / 2A state basketball championships wrapped up Saturday night in Casper Sheridan Media’s Kevin Koile has the wrap up.

BRONC / LADY BRONC BASKETBALL – The Sheridan Broncs and Lady Broncs had the 4A east regional tournament the Lady Broncs had a great weekend while the Broncs failed to qualify for the state tournament.

The Lady Broncs dropped the opener 39-38 to Cheyenne Central then beat Cheyenne South to advance to Saturday, the had a great performance and beat Laramie in a great battle Saturday morning that got them qualified for the state tournament then they went out and beat Campbell county in the 3rd place game and Head coach Ryan Sullivan said Saturday was a great day for Lady Bronc basketball.

The Broncs dropped their regional opener against Laramie and in an elimination game with Campbell county they fell off the pace but made a big comeback in the 4th quarter to force overtime before having their season end with a loss, after the game Head coach Jeff Martini.

And Martini loved to see the players show the guts to comeback and give themselves a chance to win.

JUNIOR HAWKS HOCKEY – The Sheridan Junior Hawks swept the Badlands Sabres 6-2 and 4-3 now it’s onto the playoffs the Hawks will have the number two seed going into the post season.

COWBOY BASKETBALL – The Wyoming basketball Cowboys open the MWC tournament Wednesday against New Mexico the game will tip at 5:00 live on KWYO 14-10 AM and 106.9 FM.

COWGIRL BASKETBALL – The Wyoming Cowgirls open up the Mountain West Conference tournament tonight against San Jose state at 6:00.
