Sheridan College Men’s Rodeo Team Places 3rd; Women 4th At 2026 Casper College Event
Sheridan College’s Rodeo Teams competed at the Casper College Rodeo on April 17-19, adding another strong showing to the season.
The Sheridan College Men’s Team placed third, holding steady at second in the Central Rocky Mountain Region behind the University of Wyoming.
The Women’s Team took fourth at the event, maintaining their fourth place standing in the region.
On the Men’s Team, Sheridan Saddle Bronc rider Jake Schlattmann tied for third in the long go with teammate Jasper Hatch, both logging a 71-point score.
Schlattmann added a second-place, 80-point score in the short go which put him at number two in the average with 151 points.
Christopher Nelson tied for second with teammate Lonnie Dunn in the long go with 72 points each, adding 73 more in the short go to place third in the average with 145 points.
Dunn and Hatch did not score in the short go, landing at 6th and 7th respectively in the average.
For the Women’s Team, Blaise Lange took ninth in Barrels with a 14.89-second run in the long go, tying for fifth place with a 15.51-second run in the short go for a combined 30.40-second average, landing her in 5th place overall.
Josie Johnson landed in seventh place in Goat Tying with a 15.0-second average, earned with a 7.3-second, sixth place time in the long go and a 7.7-second, sixth place run in the short go.
Sierra Hilgenkamp took first in Breakaway Roping with a fourth place 2.8-second run in the long go and a 3.8-second second-place finish in the short go, lending her with a 6.6-second average.
Teammate Faith Heim tied for second in the short go with a 2.6-second run but did not score in the long go.
Heim tied for fifth with a 102.6-second average.
“We are proud of our team and their steady approach,” said Coach Bobby Harris. “They’ve got the routine down – practice hard, lock in good habits through repetition, and learn from your mistakes. We are very excited about what they’ve been building.”
The Sheridan College Rodeo Teams will compete April 24-26 at the University of Wyoming in Laramie.
