Sheridan Troopers Legion Baseball: Runs have been hard to come by for the Sheridan Troopers Legion Baseball team during this week’s trip to Omaha, Nebraska, but they got just enough yesterday to split their games.

The team only managed 2 hits and was shut out in the first game vs. the host team Millard North 4-zip.

In the 2nd game vs. Brandon Valley, South Dakota, Avon Barney would pitch a complete game shutout, striking out 9, and the Troopers would score the only run of the game on a wild pitch in the bottom of the 7th to win.

This road trip is one that players such as Tyler Hutton has been looking forward to and he says he’s learned a few things from attending one of the College World Series games last year.

Sheridan has one game scheduled today at 5pm vs. Millard South.

Tomorrow the team will play Lincoln Southwest at 9:30am.

That game will be played in Papillion, which is a little bit southwest of Omaha.

Sunday’s schedule is to be announced.

Next week beginning Thursday, the Troopers will play in a tournament at Billings.

The next home game isn’t until Tuesday, July 9th.

Sheridan HS’s Aiden O’Leary Wins 300 Meter Hurdles State Championship: One Sheridan High School recent graduate ran and jumped his way to one state title and one runner-up finish.

Last month at the state track meet, Aiden O’Leary won the 4A Boys State Championship in the 300 meter hurdles race and was runner-up in the 4A boys 110 meter hurdles.

He says it was a fun run being a Bronc and explains what he’s learned along the way.

O’Leary will continue his track and field career at Black Hills State University.

Colorado Rockies Baseball: The Colorado Rockies ended up dropping 3 out of 4 games at home vs. the LA Dodgers, losing yesterday 5-3.

The Rocks start a 3-game home series today vs. Washington.

Today’s game starts at 6:40pm.

Tomorrow’s game starts at 7:10pm and Sunday’s game starts at 1:10pm.
