Sheridan Troopers Legion Baseball: The Sheridan Troopers Legion Baseball team started their Nebraska road trip yesterday with a 3-2 loss at Holdrege.

The team is back in action today with back-to-back games vs. Fargo, North Dakota and Bryant, Arkansas starting at 5pm in Omaha at Millard North High School.

Center-fielder Tyler Hutton has been on similar trips like this one before and says the competition that the Troopers will face is top notch.

Sheridan’s next home game isn’t until Tuesday, July 9th.

TR’s Kilbride Wins 2 Events At State Track Meet: One recent Tongue River Eagle graduate made the most of his senior season on his own.

Caleb Kilbride won the 2A Boys State Championship in the 110 meter hurdles and the high jump and was the 2A Boys State Runner-Up in both the long jump and triple jump.

He says it was a good way to wrap up his high school career as he gets ready to move to other sporting competitions.

Kilbride will play football and basketball at Dakota Wesleyan University.

Colorado Rockies Baseball: Last night the Colorado Rockies had a 9-4 lead going into the 9th inning at home vs. the LA Dodgers, and then the bullpen fell apart, giving up a grand slam and a 3-run home run, and the team ended up losing 11-9.

Elehuris Montero hit a 2-run home run and Brenton Doyle hit a solo home run for the Rocks, but those efforts were wasted.

Colorado is now 25-48 on the season.

Game 3 of the 4 game series is today starting at 6:40pm.

NHL Stanley Cup Finals: Edmonton would survive elimination again, with a 5-3 win last night at Florida.

The Oilers still trail the best of 7 series 3-2, but will host Game 6 on Friday.

Should a Game 7 be needed, it would be played on Monday at Florida.
