Lanny Peterson
Funeral services for Lanny, 85-year-old Buffalo resident who passed away Friday at the Amie Holt Care Center in Buffalo, Wyoming will be held Thursday, February 12th, at 2:00 at the Harness Funeral Home Chapel in Buffalo with Pastor Paul Gilbert officiating. Visitation for Lanny will be held on Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home chapel. Interment will be in Willow Grove Cemetery, with graveside services to immediately follow the funeral. Lanny Roy Peterson was born on November 29, 1940, in Longmont, Colorado to Wallace and Edna Peterson. He went to elementary school in Longmont and when he was in the 8th grade he moved with his family to Buffalo, where he attended middle school and Johnson County High school. After high school, he worked as a carpenter. He built many houses and also worked as a caterpillar and heavy equipment operator. He was married on June 10, 1961, in Buffalo to Paula Terentieff, and they made their home in Buffalo, where Lanny worked in construction all of his career. He retired in 1990 and continued living in Buffalo until his death.
Lanny loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was an eternal jokester and loved a good joke. His favorite was time spent at their cabin in the mountains with family. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Paula Peterson of Buffalo; one daughter Laurie Vernier and her husband Mike of Buffalo; one son Kurtis Peterson of Wyoming; three grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister Wanda Arny.
