Jonnie Oldfield

Jonnie Oldfield (69) of Clearmont, passed away February 5, 2024, with his family by his side. He was born March 13, 1954, in Portland Oregon to parents William and Ilah Oldfield. He was one of 15 children. The family moved several times throughout his childhood including Oregon, Washington, and Texas.

February 1, 1974, Jonnie enlisted in the United States Army, where he earned his GED. He completed boot camp at Ft Polk Louisiana. After boot camp, he was stationed at Ft Lewis in Washington. In 1976 he was deployed to Mannheim, Germany where he served the remainder of his time before honorably discharging from the Army on January 31, 1977.

Jonnie and Cassie met in Portland Oregon in July of 1974 and married shortly after in December of 1974. During their 49 years together, they enjoyed spending time with family. Such as camping and fishing at Snake River.

It’s no secret that Jonnie had many struggles throughout his life however he always managed to find a way to enjoy things in life. Throughout his life, Jonnie found great pleasure in hunting, fishing, woodworking, painting cars, and cooking, but most of all he loved spending time spoiling his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He was also known for taking in stray animals and giving them a good home.

He leaves behind his beloved wife Cassie and his four children and their families, Lelah, Cassandra, Tonya (Scott), John (Christy). His grandchildren Nycole, Ashlee, Dillion, Seth, Olivia, Montana, Michael, Mikal, Brendon, Chantel and Hank. Along with 10 great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind two brothers Gene (Pam) and Mike (Debbie) and one sister Faye. Along with many nieces and nephews.

Jonnie is preceded in death by his parents William and Ilah. His brothers Ernest, William, Robert, Tommy, and Terry Oldfield. Along with his sisters Ollie, Martha, Jeanette, Shirly, Marrie, and Patti.
