The proposed Mather Peak Subdivision preliminary plat was discussed and public comment was taken during the County Planning & Zoning Commission Meeting Tuesday night.

The 102-lot subdivision, if approved, will be located on lands between North Main Street, Airport Road, and Interstate 90 just north of the Buffalo city limits.

County Planner Jim Waller gave a presentation on the subdivision, discussing roads, lots, easements, tie-ins to existing roads, drainage, and other factors that would affect the area if it is built.

After the presentation, public comment was taken, with most asking questions ranging from drainage options to water and sewer line placement to the sizes of homes planned in the subdivision.

Luke Todd expressed his concern over water supply issues the city may have with a large, new subdivision.

There are a number of issues on the preliminary plat noted by the planning office and the planning commission that need to be addressed, with appropriate changes made before coming back before the commission.

According to discussions, the city will now have to review the preliminary plat and also make recommendations before it will be brought back before the planning commission.

The commission took no action and voted to table the plat indefinitely.

The name of your site is SHERIDAN Media. This article about Mather Peak subdvn mentions “the county” numerous times but never mentions it is in Johnson County. The only hint it is not Sheridan nor Sheridan County is one mention of Buffalo at the end of the second paragraph.
