Liquor License Subcommittee Proposes New Process for Awarding Retail Liquor License

City Attorney Brendon Kerns recently met with the liquor license committee that consists of Councilors Steve Brantz, Shawn Day and Jacob Martin. The committee was formed last year and was tasked with developing the process for awarding the additional retail liquor license the City received. Kerns said the committee has come up with a proposed addendum to the resolution the Council approved last November that provided the process and procedure for awarding the license.

If the Council approves the addendum to the resolution at their meeting this upcoming Monday night, the committee will score the 11 applications and present the top six applicants at the  Council’s April 11 study session. The lottery of the top six would then take place at the Council’s regularly scheduled business meeting on April 18.
