JCSD1 Trustees Vote to Add Rickett to Board

The Johnson County School Board held a special meeting Wednesday night, and voted to appoint Paul Rickett to the board, to fill the spot vacated by John Manzella who died unexpectedly in December.

According to discussions, the board received three letters of interest from community members, and after review made their decision.

Chairperson Jan Johnson and trustee Dave Belus spoke about those who submitted letters.

Rickett will be sworn in at the board’s regular meeting on February 14, and will serve the remainder of Manzella’s term which will be up at the end of 2022.

Should he choose to continue to serve, he will have to run for election along with any other hopefuls.
