Sales and Use Tax Numbers Remain Positive

The sales and use tax numbers continue to be positive for the City of Sheridan. City Treasurer Karen Burtis provided figures for the month of October to the Sheridan City Council and Mayor Rich Bridger at their recent meeting. Burtis said the monthly and year-to-date taxes are both up over 20 percent.
Burtis said the monthly internet tax is up 20 percent, or $6,446, over October 2020, and the year-to-date internet tax is up 19.8 percent, or $37,315. Of the twelve different Cities on the municipality comparison, all of them experienced an increase over October 2020 with Douglas having the highest at 58.4 percent and Cody, Green River, and Rock Springs tied for the lowest at 4.8 percent. The average increase for the twelve municipalities was 19.4 percent.
