Council Salaries Discussed at Study Session

An increase in salary of the Sheridan City Council is an item that was discussed at this week’s Council study session. Sheridan Media’s Ron Richter has the details.

Members of the Sheridan City Council currently receive a salary of $500 a month. That amount could change soon as the Council is considering an increase to $1,000 a month. Councilman Aaron Linden provided some historical data on pay raises for the Council and said it’s been two decades since an increase in pay was approved.

Linden pointed out the proposed increase would only apply to newly elected councilors.

The Council will officially consider the salary increase at an upcoming regularly scheduled business meeting.
