The 26th Annual Christmas Stroll will bring Santa and fireworks

The 26th Annual Christmas Stroll is happening at 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday, Nov. 26 all over Sheridan. 

For 26 years, the Christmas Stroll has invited residents to take advantage of shopping local. This year over 100 Sheridan businesses are participating in the stroll, with many taking part in the Christmas lighting and decorating contest. The theme this year is “Gingerbread Stroll.” A list of participating businesses and a full schedule of the day’s events can be found here. 

While appearing on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse, Sheridan County Chamber of Commerce Chief Executive Officer Dixie Johnson informed listeners how the event has become a hybrid of year’s past.

Streets will be closed from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. to allow for free hot cocoa, free wagon rides, marshmallow roasting and Christmas carols. 

Stroll buttons can be purchased for $5 at participating businesses. 

The chamber will have “secret elves” walking around during the Christmas Stroll and should a button holder “Get Caught Shopping”, the button holder will be awarded with Chamber Bucks. Over the holiday shopping season, the chamber will be giving away up to $5,000 in Chamber Bucks. 

Kids can stop by the WYO Theater to see Santa and Mrs. Clause beginning at 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. The night will culminate with a fireworks display by Pyrotechnician Bruce Burns beginning at 8 p.m.
