County Backs Sheridan Health Center Application

The Sheridan County Commission has ratified a Letter of Support for the Sheridan Health Center, Inc. in their application to become a Federally Qualified Health Center Look-Alike.

The letter read in part, “the most recent Sheridan County Needs Assessment placed affordable health care, including dental services, in the top three most pressing concerns of our residents. The Sheridan County Commissioners are pleased at the prospect of the Sheridan Health Center being able to leverage further resources to expand those services to the medically under served in our county.”

According to the letter, the commission also re-committed to continue leasing the clinic space at 31 E. Whitney for $1 per year plus monthly utilities, as it is strategically located near the courthouse, City Hall, Department of Family Services, Workforce Services, the Post Office, and Senior Center, alleviating many transportation challenges some residents face.
