Sheridan VA Healthcare System’s Veterans Day Celebration will go virtual

In some towns Veteran’s Day is celebrated with parades, speeches and gatherings, but all that had to change with the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Sheridan VA Healthcare System did not want to forgo a Veteran’s Day celebration this year but knew that with the numbers of COVID-19 cases in Sheridan County a gathering wouldn’t not be a healthy idea for the many veterans that live and work in the Sheridan region.
So this year the celebration will go virtual. The theme for this year’s celebration is Military Spouses During Deployment, the unique challenges and shared experiences.
Sheridan VA Public Affairs Specialist Cherish Thomson told listeners of Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse a little about the presentation.
Tongue River Middle School students have been working hard to complete essays that will also be read aloud by the students.
The Virtual Veterans Day Program will air on the Sheridan VA Health Care System’s Facebook page on Nov. 11, beginning at 11 a.m. To find and save the location, click here.
