The Skyline Singers specialize in a cappella music. The Skyline Singers are a collection of nine professional and semi-professional singers from all over the region. Practicing both alone via video call and practicing together, the group comes together often only once a year to give performances.
On Nov. 6, the Skyline Singers will perform both sacred and secular works spanning from the 16th century to modern works. The featured work on this program will be the motet “Singet dem Herrn ein neues Lied” by J. S. Bach, featuring Dr. Mark Eliot Bergman on double bass. The group will also perform three separate settings of the Marian Vesper hymn “Ave maris stella” by three different Norwegian composers.
While appearing on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse, Sheridan College of the Arts Music Director Dr. Rob Psurny told listeners a little about the upcoming performance.
The Skyline Singers Concert will begin at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 6, at Whitney Center for the Arts.Tickets can be purchased online here, or at the Whitney Center for the Arts box office at 307-675-0360.
