Resident Concerned Over Forest Service Plan for Watershed

Buffalo resident Craig Cope, a former employee of the US Forest Service, came before the Buffalo City Council at their recent meeting to bring to their attention a plan of the Forest Service for weed and sagebrush mitigation on the Clear Creek Watershed.
Cope is concerned that the chemicals that are proposed to be used could be harmful to the watershed and ultimately the city’s water supply.
Cope gave information on the proposed chemicals and the potential problems that could arise from the Forest Service using them in the watershed, and asked the council to investigate further.
According to discussions at the meeting, the city’s legal department contacted the Forest Service that day and had not heard back as of the meeting.
The council will discuss the matter further with the Bighorn National Forest.

Thank you, Mr. Cope for your far sightedness.
