Ron RichterRevenue generated from the sales and use taxes in the City of Sheridan continues to trend upward. Sheridan Media’s Ron Richter has the details.
City of Sheridan Treasurer Karen Burtis provided the City Council and Mayor Rich Bridger with the monthly update on the sales and use tax numbers for the month of July.
Burtis said the monthly internet tax is up 13.9 percent, or $3,946, over July 2020, and the year-to-date internet tax is up 15 percent, or just over $14,000 over July 2020. Of the 12 larger municipalities in the state, only Douglas had a decline in sales and use tax from July of last year, while Jackson had the biggest increase of 66.5 percent over last July. The average increase of the 12 municipalities was 17.5 percent.
