The Sheridan City Council held a special meeting Thursday regarding the Interim City Administrator position. Sheridan Media’s Ron Richter has the details.

The Council, following a brief executive session reconvened into a regular session and approved a contract with the consulting firm of Prothman to hire Mike Jackson as the Interim City Administrator. City Human Resources Director Heather Doke.

Doke said that there were six applicants that applied for the position. She added that the City intends to start advertising for the permanent City Administrator position early into the New Year. Jackson comes to Sheridan from Chelan, Washington, where he has served as City Administrator since November of 2016. His government experience began in 1989 when he became the Director of Parks, Library and Recreation for the City of Sterling, Colorado.
