Flu Shots: Better Late Than Never

The Sheridan V.A. Medical Center and Walgreens have teamed up to make the flu vaccination available to all eligible veterans at no cost. Last year’s flu season caused over 61,000 deaths according to the Centers for Disease Control. With the peak of the flu season starting in December, The V.A.’s Infection Control nurse Joshua Schuster has this message for the veterans in our area:

If a veteran chooses to go to Walgreens to get their flu shot they simply need to provide their Veteran’s Health I.D. card to receive the vaccination at no cost to them.
