Some Issues Reported on BHNF Powder River District

John Wallace is currently the acting District Ranger for the Bighorn National Forest’s Powder River District based in Buffalo.

He recently spoke with Sheridan Media about a number of topics concerning this year’s summer season on the district.

Today he talks about some issues the district has been dealing with in recent

years.

Wallace said some users may need to be more aware of the regulations concerning dispersed camping.

Wallace asked users to be responsible and follow the rules on the district and the Bighorn National Forest.

Also, he said if the public wishes to report a problem, they are encouraged to do so, as the Forest and the District have limited resources and it is difficult for them to cover the entire forest.
