Constitution Week September 17th – 23rd in Buffalo

To recognize the anniversary of the drafting of the Constitution, Buffalo Mayor Shane Schrader proclaimed the week of September 17th through the 23rd as “Constitution Week,” and explained the reason for the recognition.
After reading the proclamation, members of the Sheridan Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution accepted the proclamation and spoke briefly about Constitution Week.
They asked that citizens, at 2pm on Friday, September 17th to ring a bell to celebrate the Constitution.
It was once done for a minute for each year of the Constitution has been in existence but they said since it’s now “pretty darn old” that they have changed it to ringing bells for only one minute at that time on that date.
