According to Executive Director Christine Dieterich, the Women Build promotes the involvement of women in the construction industry through recruiting & training women to build a home. Habitat for Humanity offers this build as a way to learn new skills, or brush up on old ones, in a safe environment.

The Women Build will take place Aug. 17 – 21, and does not exclude men, but is about encouraging women to become empowered to participate and show what they can accomplish when working construction as a team.

Dieterich told listeners of Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse that any donations made, will be matched for the build.

The day will include team building, networking, construction work, a fun swag bag, t-shirt and more. Anyone aged 16 years or older is invited to participate. No previous construction experience or knowledge is required. Volunteers will work alongside a professional construction supervisor, and Habitat partner families.

Sign up here, as an individual, or create a team of up to ten. Volunteer groups will be capped at ten individuals per morning and afternoon shift.
