Ron RichterThe Sheridan City Council at their meeting Tuesday night heard from a representative from Clarity Telecom, LLC about a proposed franchise agreement with the City. Sheridan Media’s Ron Richter has the details.
The Council approved second reading of an ordinance for a franchise agreement with Clarity Telecom. Regional Director of Operations for Clarity, Chris Karn addressed the Council about their broadband infrastructure they intend to run in the City’s right-of-way.
Karn explained the services that they would be providing in Sheridan.
The agreement establishes a franchise fee of 5 percent of gross revenue and is a 10 year term with an automatic extension for an additional five year term unless proper notice is given by either party. The franchise agreement ordinance requires one more reading before it is approved.
