Council Approves Rate Increases for Water, Sewer and Solid Waste

Rate increases for water, sewer and solid waste were approved by the Sheridan City Council Monday night. A 2.75 percent increase for solid waste will go into effect on July 1; a 2.75 percent increase to sewer service will go into effect January 1st of next year and a 2.5 percent increase to water service will go into effect also on January 1st. The increases were approved by three separate resolutions on a 4 to 3 vote for each of the resolutions. Councilman Aaron Linden explained his decision to vote for the increases.

The Council also approved first reading of an ordinance for a franchise agreement with Clarity Telecom, LLC. There were several subdivision requests that were approved along with a Master Plan amendment for the Wrench Ranch Phase Two subdivision. We’ll have more from the Council meeting in future stories.
