Nuisance Resolution Fails By Vote of County Commission

A resolution drafted to address nuisances in the county failed by a lack of vote by the Sheridan County Commission during their recent meeting.
The resolution addressed “Rules and Regulations for the Declaration and Abatement of Nuisances” and was discussed by the commission and many residents during a public hearing in the meeting.
Deputy County Attorney Clint Beaver explained more about what the resolution would do.
A number of county residents spoke against the resolution, saying they believed it was the property owners’ right to have whatever they want on their lands, and the county should not dictate to them what is acceptable.
After the public hearing, all of the commissioners spoke in the matter, saying they could not support the resolution, although there are residents that do support it.
The resolution failed by a unanimous “nay” vote of the commission.
