Acting Public Health Nurse Speaks to Board of Health

Johnson County Public Health has an acting Public Health Nurse who will be in that position until a permanent replacement can be found and hired.

Melissa Ohnsted has been with Johnson County since Nurse Manager Trish Thompson’s last day in mid-April.

Ohnsted introduced herself to the Board of Health at their quarterly meeting April 20^th.

Ohnsted reported that roughly 23% of eligible county residents are fully vaccinated with a COVID-19 vaccination.

There have been 2,378 first doses and 2,084 second doses of the Moderna vaccine, and 182 of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine given by the county.
