The Sheridan College Department of Theater and Dance will present the spring play at the WYO Theater on Friday, April 9, and Saturday, April 10, at 7:30 p.m. A matinee performance will be held on Sunday, April 11, at 2:30 p.m.
The play, Amelia, written by Alex Webb, follows the title character, a woman driven by her love and bravery during the Civil War on her heroic journey in search of her husband, a soldier who has not written home.
During an appearance on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse, Theater and Dancer instructor for the Sheridan College, Dr. Lauren Graffin Estrada informed listeners on the true life inspiration Webb drew from to write Amelia.
The student performers of the Sheridan College Department of Theater and Dance are excited to return to live performances and entertain attendees with Amelia, according to Graffin Estrada.
Tickets for the performance are $15 for adults, $10 for seniors and veterans and $5 for students. Tickets can be purchased at the WYO Theater Box Office or at www.wyotheater.com.
Livestreaming tickets are available for the evening performances at a cost of $15.
