Bassett Takes Over as New Commissioner Assistant

Johnson County’s Commissioners have a new assistant that will take over for retiring current assistant Sheila Newcomb.

At the recent commissioner’s meeting, they recognized Newcomb, presenting her with flowers for her service to the county.

Ashlea Bassett was hired as the new assistant to the commissioners and started training this week, and will take over officially after Newcomb’s last day Friday.

Bassett was previously the Services Specialist at Sheridan College in Johnson County.
