Pat BlairA project to relocate waterlines on Coffeen Avenue belonging to Sheridan Area Water Supply has been completed.
Dan Coughlin, SAWS administrator, reported on the project status at a meeting of the SAWS joint powers board earlier this week.
The relocation of lines was necessitated because of plans by the Wyoming Department of Transportation to widen Coffeen. Coughlin said the project went very nicely, and WYDOT has agreed to pay the cost.
Regarding another project, Coughlin told the SAWS board that a project to repair or replace a waterline that runs from the Sheridan County Airport to Sheridan College could be undertaken in summer of 2022.
Coughlin said that waterline has a history of leaking, but though it’s important to SAWS customers, the line is, in fact, owned completely by the city of Sheridan. At this time, Coughlin said, plans are that part of the funds for the project will come from the Wyoming Water Development Commission and partly from the Office of State Lands and Investment.
