Senator Barrasso Secures Highway Funding for Wyoming

U.S. Senator John Barrasso of Wyoming, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works, helped secure the inclusion of funds for Wyoming’s highways in the COVID relief legislation. According to Senator Barrasso’s office, the legislation includes $10 billion for highways throughout the country, $64 million of which is allocated for road and bridge projects in Wyoming.
Barrasso said the pandemic has affected every part of our economy and these additional highway funds will create jobs and help keep our economy moving. The senator added that in Wyoming, our highways are essential to our success and this legislation will give the Wyoming Department of Transportation additional funding that will help complete important road and bridge projects throughout the state. On September 30 of this year, Congress passed a one-year extension on highway funding. At that time, Senator Barrasso insisted on a full-year extension in order to allow states and communities to better plan for highway projects.

So what does this REALLY have to do with covid relief? Meanwhile the bill also gives $135 million to Burma, $85.5 million to Cambodia, $1.4 billion for “Asia Reassurance Initiative Act”, $130 million to Nepal, and you the serf get $600. If you own a racehorse, the coronavirus stimulus legislation has a tax break for you!
At almost 6000 pages, has John even read the bill? Can John tell us who even wrote the bill? How many WY businesses have been closed permanently because of covid restrictions? Does John even know? Why does Mitch McConnell want the Senate to pass it by unanimous consent (meaning no recorded votes)? Do we the people even have a representative govt. in DC anymore? Wake up Wyoming!

$700 million to Sudan, $1.3 Billion to Egypt, $10 million to Pakistan for gender programs and you ” helped secure ” $64 million for Wyoming roads. Who knows what other BS programs are included. If you are going to fail at your job, fail big I guess. Just another worthless relief package congress has passed.
