An arraignment hearing was held Thursday in Fourth Judicial District Court in Sheridan for Sean Vance, who is charged with Felony Theft for allegedly taking over $2,400 in merchandise from Wal-Mart in Sheridan on November 11. Vance entered a plea of “not guilty by reason of mental impairment or deficiency.” Vance must now undergo a mental health evaluation through the Wyoming State Hospital.

District Court Judge John Fenn  scheduled the #5 stack two-day jury trial to begin on April 19. The number five stack means that there are four other jury trials scheduled for the same time. A pretrial conference was set for March 18 at 10:30 am. Judge Fenn continued Vance’s bond under the same terms and conditions that were previously set in Circuit Court, with the one added condition that Vance complete the mental health evaluation with the State Hospital. If convicted, Vance faces up to 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000.
