Johnson County Accepts Homeland Security Grants

Johnson County’s Commissioners have accepted two Homeland Security grants brought before them by County Emergency Management Coordinator Marilyn Connolly.
Connolly explained that the first grant is for an enclosed trailer for the county clerk’s election equipment.
She explained the second grant is a new cooperative concept for public and private partnership.
Connolly said there still need to be a Memorandum of Understanding drafted for maintenance of the generators, which will be located at the tower site and the studio to power the station for emergency broadcasts.
The grant for the trailer is for just under $5,000 while the grant for the generators is for roughly $9,800.
