Aaron PalmerJohnson County Public Health Officer Dr. Mark Schueler, during the weekly Emergency Operations Center Briefing, said that Johnson County has seen 130 new cases of COVID, which is about 40% of the total for the year, meaning the virus has become much more active in Wyoming and the threat is much higher now than previously.
Schueler said the healthcare center has received their freezer for storing COVID vaccine, and they are ready to receive shipments of the vaccine.
He anticipates will happen later this month, although they have no idea when, or how much, and who will be recommended to be vaccinated first.
It is believed that the guidelines will come from the Center for Disease Control (CDC), then handed down to each state health department, who will then decide the distribution for the vaccine.
