CHAPS Receives Funding for Pony Pals Program

Children, Horses and Adults in Partnership, or CHAPS, has been awarded funding from the NextFifty Initiative that will benefit Pony Pals, which supports older adults in the Sheridan area by providing high quality equine therapies for youth, adults, and veterans with physical, mental, social, and/or psychological disabilities.
The support from the NextFifty Initiative, a Colorado-based foundation, will allow CHAPS to grow its effort to support those fifty and older. CHAPS Executive Director Kristen Marcus said they are excited that their Pony Pals that is designed to provide engaging equine activities for older adults in the community has received the funding from NextFifty as they can now serve more of our older community members, providing engagement, socialization and quality pony interaction. Marcus said it’s a tremendous endorsement to have the backing from funders so aligned with their mission.
CHAPS is a local non-profit serving pre-K, youth, adults, seniors and veterans Sheridan and northern Johnson Counties. Through their four programs, CHAPS helps people learn, grow and heal through equine therapy. To learn more, you can visit http://www.chapswyo.org/home.aspx
