Sheridan Man Charged with ‘Keying’ Vehicle Changes Plea

A change of plea hearing was held Thursday in Fourth Judicial District Court in Sheridan for 41-year-old Cory Gagner, who is charged with Felony Property Destruction and Defacement. According to court documents, on May 23, Gagner was arrested and charged with the crime for “keying” a vehicle in the Wal-Mart parking lot in Sheridan. The damage to the vehicle was estimated at $1,472.
Gagner pleaded guilty to the charge per terms of a plea agreement reached with the state.The plea deal recommends a sentence of 2 to 4 years in prison, suspended in lieu of two years of supervised probation. The plea agreement also stipulates that Gagner must pay restitution in full within four months after sentencing. District Court Judge John Fenn ordered that a presentence investigation be completed and scheduled the sentencing hearing for January 19 at 10:30 am.
