Ten More Wyoming Coronavirus-Related Deaths Confirmed

According to information released Thursday afternoon by the Wyoming Department of Health, ten more coronavirus-related deaths have been confirmed among Wyoming residents who had tested positive for COVID-19. Of the deaths announced by the WDH, one was a Sheridan County woman who died earlier this month. According to Sheridan County COVID-19 Public Information Officer Jennifer Graves, the older adult woman died at home on October 18 from complications associated with COVID-19.
The other deaths included three women from Goshen County, two men from Natrona County, one woman from Laramie County, one woman from Albany county, one man from Converse County, and a woman from Fremont County. There have been 19 deaths in Wyoming due to COVID-19 over the past five days.
Deaths among Wyoming residents are added to the state’s coronavirus-related death total based on official death certificate information and the location of the person’s permanent residence. If death certificates do not describe COVID-19 as either causing or contributing to a person’s death, those deaths are not included in Wyoming’s count of coronavirus-related deaths. Deaths among Wyoming residents who pass away in other states are not counted in both states.
According to data recently released by the Centers for Disease Control, Wyoming ranks fifth in the nation for new COVID-19 cases per 100,000 residents. North Dakota ranked first for new cases, followed by South Dakota, Wisconsin, Montana, and Wyoming. As of Thursday afternoon, among Wyoming residents, there have now been 87 coronavirus-related deaths, 10,589 lab-confirmed cases and 1,918 probable cases reported since the pandemic began.
