In a release from the Johnson County COVID-19 Emergency Operations Center late Monday, they announced that contact tracing has been burdened by the recent increase in COVID-19 cases within the county.

According to the release, limited tracing capacity has caused the slowing of the contact tracing system and caused delays in notifying those who have been in close contact with a positive case.

Numerous agencies, Johnson County Public Health, the Wyoming Department of Health, and the Wyoming Army National Guard are all performing contact tracing for Johnson County, so those that receive a call from any of these are asked to return the call as soon as possible.

This will help improve the time it takes to contact trace each case and limit the spread of COVID-19 in our community.

Those that feel they may have been a close contact (within 6 feet for longer than 15 minutes) to a positive COVID-19 case, are asked to self-quarantine by staying home.

It may be a few (1-4) days before you are called by a contact tracer.

If you do start to develop symptoms, please self-isolate and contact your healthcare provider.

Johnson County Public Health is asking residents and businesses to continue to be vigilant by practicing all appropriate hygiene, distancing recommendations and utilizing face coverings when you are unable to distance.
