Johnson County Accepts Energy Program Grant Funding

Johnson County’s Commissioners voted to accept grant funding from the Wyoming Energy Authority for upgrades to help with energy efficiency.
County Facilities Director David Eades explained the scope of the project the funds were approved for.
The total cost of the project in the courthouse is roughly $26,000 which includes $18,000 for spray foam insulation and $8,000 to insulate the steam pipes in the crawl space.
The museum project will cost about $13,000 for foam insulation and $3,500 to remove the old insulation for a total of just under $17,000.
The grant amount is for $25,000 with a 10% local match which will be used for the courthouse project.
One-percent funding set aside in this year’s budget for the project will be used for the museum’s portion of the work.
