The Lake DeSmet Advisory Board will meet today, August 19th, and will hear from the Wyoming Game and Fish Department on their draft Lake DeSmet Rapid Response Plan for Aquatic Invasive Species.

Paul Mavrakis, Regional Fisheries Supervisor with the Wyoming Game and Fish Department, Sheridan Regional Office, is scheduled to outline their proposed plan and coordinated response if aquatic invasive species are ever discovered in Lake DeSmet.

Game & Fish is seeking input from shareholders, and the draft plan will be presented to the public for comment and input this winter before the plan is finalized.

Also on the board’s agenda is a discussion on board terms, a report from the Lake DeSmet Operating Department, and an update on the Lower Clear Creek Irrigation District’s Leiter Ditch Project.

The meeting will begin at 3pm in the Johnson County Road & Bridge Department’s Meeting Room.

The public is welcome to attend in person or virtually.
