Johnson County Approves Application for 2022 CMAQ Funds

Johnson County’s Commissioners approved an applicaion to the Wyoming Department of Transportation for federal funding for dust mitigation on industrial roads in the county.

Johnson County Road and Bridge Supervisor Scott Pehringer brought the application for Congestion Mitigation Air Quality (CMAQ) funding before the county commission for approval at their Tuesday meeting.

Pehringer explains what the chemical treatment will be used on in the spring of 2022.

The county application is for a total project cost of just over $533,000 which will require a local match from the county of nearly $107,000

Pehringer said the cost of the project for 2022 works out to be an estimated $5,243 per mile for the chemical treatment.
