After several years of not planning a parade, Clearmont will once again have a parade on Clearmont Day on June 27 as a way to celebrate the United States 250 anniversary.

The Clearmont Historic Group is organizing the parade this year, and according to Sandy Hirz, director of the Clearmont Historical Center, there is still time to enter to be in the parade line-up.

“So far we have 15 entries,” Hirz said. “And people need to pick up their entry form and return it to the Center by June 15.” For entry forms one can drop by the Center, or contact Sandy at 307-758-4685, or CHG president Robert Prusak at email robertp@rangeweb.net.

There are several other events during the Clearmont Day celebration, beginning with a pancake breakfast at 7 a.m. at the Clearmont Fire Hall, a 3 on 3 basketball tournament from 8 to 3, followed by the parade at 10 a.m.

There will be vendors in Branding Iron Park all day, with a free lunch at noon, provided by Powder River Energy Foundation, Pepsi-Co, Clearmont Creek FFA and Clearmont Community Center Foundation.

There will be an antique car show beginning at noon, and the ever popular duck races sponsored by the Clearmont Ambulance Board at 2. New this year will be the Clear Creek Dog Stampede, Dachshund and Corgi races, at 3 p.m., with registration starting at 2:30.

Ken Wacker will provide the live music from 1 to 5 p.m., and there will be a social hour at 5 with a cash bar, followed by a community dinner at 6 p.m.

For more information, or to be a vendor on the day, call Amy Rowe, 307-278-1716.
