The Wyoming Department of Health has withdrawn a set of proposed changes to the Wyoming Immunization Program administrative rules.

Authorities said in light of the current COVID-19 pandemic response, they determined that a portion of the proposed rule changes could have presented an unexpected challenge to schools in the state.

According to a news release from the department of health, proposed changes would have added meningococcal vaccination to school requirements.

The changes also would have clarified school vaccination requirements and clarified provider agreement requirements for the immunization information system.

According to the release, the health department expects to update the rule at a later time in a manner that considers the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic response.
