Applications for Property Tax Programs Remain Open

Sheridan County Commissioners Lonnie Wright and Nick Siddle appeared on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse and urged residents to apply for property tax exemptions created by the Wyoming Legislature.

The applications remain open with the possibility of the 25% homeowner exemption being extended by the Wyoming Legislature. But Commissioner Siddle said residents shouldn’t rely on the extension and recommended applying as soon as possible.

Applications for all property tax programs opened Oct. 1. The deadline for the 25% homeowner exemption is March 1 as of Feb. 20, while the deadlines for the 50% long-term homeowner exemption and the veteran exemption are both May 26.
